Family Therapist

NYC & LA

It is a curious thought, but it is only when you see people looking ridiculous that you realize just how much you love them.

Real Conversations for Real Families

Families are complicated—and that’s an understatement. Whether you’re dealing with long-standing family conflict, adjusting to new relational dynamics, or navigating deeply personal issues like queerness, gender identity, or generational trauma, therapy can be a space to untangle, rebuild, and reconnect.

I specialize in working with adult families—siblings, parents and adult children, blended families, or chosen families—who are ready to confront tough dynamics with compassion, clarity, and courage.

My Approach

I bring over a decade of advanced training to our work together, including a four-year post-graduate certification from the Ackerman Institute for the Family. My style is collaborative and impartial. I don’t take sides—I help uncover patterns and guide you toward insight and resolution.

Core Theoretical Frameworks:

  • Ackerman Relational Approach (ARA)

  • Narrative Family Therapy

  • Structural Family Therapy

  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

  • Open Dialogical (OD)

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

What We Can Work On Together

Family therapy can address both surface-level stressors and deeply rooted issues. Some of the most common areas I help families with include:

  • Family & Sibling Conflict

  • Divorce and Separation

  • Co-Parenting Strategies

  • Queer and Trans Family Issues

  • Relational Trauma

  • Blended Family Integration

  • Family Secrets and Unspoken Tensions

  • Parent–Adult Child Dynamics

Every family is different. Some want support for a single moment of crisis; others benefit from consistent, structured sessions to create long-term change.

What to Expect from Family Therapy

  • Initial Intake: We start with an intake session (up to 60 minutes) where I meet with the family to understand dynamics, concerns, and shared goals.

  • Standard Sessions: Most sessions are 50 minutes and occur weekly to maintain momentum.

  • Extended Sessions: For families with three or more members, I recommend 90-minute sessions to give everyone space to be heard.

  • Virtual + In-Person Options: I offer family therapy both in-person (NYC regularly, LA every few months) and online for those joining from multiple locations.

How long will this take?
Every family is different. Some see shifts in just a few sessions. Others benefit from a longer process, depending on the nature and depth of the challenges.

Do you work with chosen or queer families?
Absolutely. As someone deeply experienced in LGBTQ+ dynamics, I welcome families in all forms.
